I have worked in the healing arts profession for over twenty five years. I strongly believe that we all have strengths and challenges. I use my empathy, intuition, and creativity to
empower you and to help you reach your highest potential. As a Humanistic Cognitive Behavioral therapist I do this by working with you to change your thoughts, feelings, and ultimately your behaviors in areas you may be stuck.
I am also a homeschooling dad and many families have found it helpful that I understand the many ways there are to homeschool and find it refreshing that they don't have to waste time explaining why their kids are not in school or having to defend their choice to educate their children.
I also like to use art, play, and sand tray when working with younger children. The mode of communication for children is play. This works very well for children who may not be able to express all of their thoughts and feelings in an overt manner. Art and play allows children to express themselves in a safe and non-threatening environment without having to re-experience feelings that may have been too traumatic or upsetting.
I have given presentations on the empowerment of children at major conferences such as the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools and the Homeschool Association of CA. I also have a podcast on parenting topics.
